Participate in developing the call in the area of sustainable and smart mobility

The European Commission (EC) is preparing an additional call for research proposals with pre-defined topics under Horizon 2020, dedicated to priorities of the Green Deal policy. In the process of developing the call contents, the EC gives all stakeholders the opportunity to comment on the topic texts, which are made public for this purpose.

The call is structured into 11 areas and area 5 deals with “sustainable and smart mobility”, specifically with the topic “green airports and ports as hubs for sustainable and smart mobility”. As transport is a major contributor of global greenhouse gas emissions, the European Green Deal seeks to address this. In order to achieve the EU’s goal of climate neutrality by 2050, transport emissions will have to drastically reduce by 90%. Much more needs to be done in aviation and shipping to achieve the EU decarbonization goals. Airports and ports have a major role to play since, as hubs, they can have a significant and immediate impact on the modes of transport using them.

Get involved in developing the Green Deal call area 5 and participate in the public consultation phase until 3 June 2020.

More information about the call and the other areas is available here or attend the Euresearch webinar on May 28 to find out more.
